Our mission at CrossFit Julia is:

We are here to see our clients maximize their wellness potential in a motivating, fun, and goal oriented environment that is focused on total body fitness and therapeutic massage.
The fitness element, CrossFit, is a multi-faceted approach to being in the best shape of your life. In one workout, clients engage their bodies in activities that are designed to improve cardiovascular health, strength, stamina, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy. In most traditional fitness settings, each one of these areas is focused on individually, thus increasing the time until results are seen. Not only does CrossFit train the body completely, it is based on achieving personal goals, which provides the mental motivation needed to keep pushing above and beyond the current set of “limits.” There are no glass ceilings here.
Next stop: therapeutic massage. The place to relax, recover, and look inside at all the places traveled to and all the places still left to go. Massage allows the body to refresh and reconnect by relaxing sore muscles, flushing out waste products, and improving circulation, flexibility, and range of motion, amongst many other benefits. Most of all, therapeutic massage provides much needed “me time” and is the place of rejuvenation and preparation for the next set of challenges.
So now, imagine a place where you could push your body’s limits, a place where your mind could elevate you above those limits and in the end, a place where you could come out knowing exactly who you are and what you’re made of. What does that place look like? For some it’s the top of a mountain, for others it’s the waves of the ocean.
For us it’s CrossFit Julia.
How do I know that your program works?
Our trainers use the CrossFit methodology, the most efficient path to fitness out there. This isn’t an aerobics class that’s designed to make you feel good without getting you results, this is the real deal. Every year, the CrossFit Games challenges the best athletes across the world to determine the fittest woman and man on the planet. CrossFit excels at producing elite athletes and it’s also perfect for getting back in shape.

I heard that CrossFit is really intense, how will I be able to keep up?
When you first start, you’ll be given a scaled version of the workout while you build your fitness. We coach and train all levels of fitness regardless of your background. Not only that, we help you every step of the way so that you can maximize your results. You’ll never get lost in the shuffle at CrossFit Julia, we’re always here to help out any way we can.

Aren’t there other CrossFit gyms? Why should I train at CrossFit Julia?
We are not your typical CrossFit gym. Most gyms have intense atmospheres that focus on only producing elite athletes. We believe that a personalized approach to our training and a supportive environment are far more successful at helping you achieve your goals. The Results
…I've drastically changed my body.
Since I started working out at CrossFit Julia I'm down 20lbs and, more importantly, I've drastically changed my body. Muscle Mass is up and body fat is way down. Bigger, faster, stronger. Now if only I was getting younger. My proudest achievement is going from day one and not being able to do more than one pull-up to today and being able to knock out 110 pull-ups in one workout, along with all of the other reps in less than 40 minutes. – Mike

Shawn Bandel
Having a wedding rapidly approaching, Julia was looking for the best way to get in perfect shape. At the time, her soon-to-be husband had just discovered CrossFit and was achieving fantastic results. Seeing the benefits firsthand, Julia gave CrossFit a try and neither of them has looked back. With Julia’s background in personal training and massage therapy combined with Shawn’s varied athletic background in gymnastics, cycling, motocross, and tennis, CrossFit was a perfect extension of their fitness philosophy:
- Functional, full body movements
- Application to the real world
- Group-style classes
- The camaraderie
Since this was a perfect extension of their fitness philosophy, Julia and Shawn opened their own gym to provide a supportive and encouraging environment that will help you reach your fitness goals. Julia also received a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Colorado at Boulder and was an athletic trainer for the Men’s Soccer, Lacrosse, and Rugby teams at the University of Colorado. Shawn holds a degree in finance from New York University. Both Shawn and Julia have their CrossFit Level 1, CrossFit Endurance and CrossFit Goal Setting Trainer Certificates.
